Untitled (Archive Pharmacy) consists of two interrelated series developed for a solo exhibition at
Apoteka – Space for Contemporary Art in Vodnjan, Croatia (2024), both rooted in the historical and material context of the former pharmacy that now houses the gallery.
The first series draws from the collection of the Historical and Maritime Museum of Istria, featuring photographs of ceramic and glass apothecary jars transferred onto black paper using silkscreen printing. Instead of traditional ink, the prints were made with powdered active pharmaceutical substances, resulting in faint, almost ghostly images that echo the fragility and ephemerality of the source material.
The second series is based on recent photographs of the gallery interior, capturing accumulated traces of time and use. These images are presented in freestanding, double-sided lightboxes, placed on a base constructed from drawers borrowed from the original white pharmacy cabinets still preserved within the space. The drawers, repurposed as sculptural foundations, anchor the photographic installation in the material memory of the site.
