Untitled (Archive ST3) is the continuation of the project that was started in 2015. Focus of the project lies in the re-contextualization of the 1960s architecture – in this case, of the former Military Hospital in Split. At the time of its construction, it was very advanced in its equipment, as well as to its approach to architecture and design.

The work is a hybrid between photography and light installation. It consists of the digital print of an archival photograph of the hospital’s interior taken in 1965, prior to the hospital’s inauguration. The print is mounted on the wall and forms a background for the construction of fluorescent tubes. The tubes form an isometric drawing that accentuates the constructivist roots of modernism.

The hospital scene evokes uneasiness which is further stressed by the emptiness of the interior, but also creates intrigue as a document of a very specific situation. The work questions the position of personal and social memory in relation to the heritage of modernist architecture.

The work was produced for the group exhibition 10th HT Award for Contemporary Croatian Art at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Zagreb, Croatia in 2017.
